Match preview
Aston Villa have enjoyed an impressive three months under Steven Gerrard's guidance and they can climb into the top half of the Premier League table by defeating Leeds at Villa Park.
When Gerrard took the Villa job in November, the club were two points off the drop zone and faced a tricky December schedule which included fixtures against Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Villa lost to those top-three sides but they have otherwise excelled and have amassed 16 points from ten matches since Gerrard's arrival.
Leeds have opted for continuity by keeping faith with Marcelo Bielsa and staying out of the January transfer market but they remain hamstrung by injuries to key trio Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford.
Last month's wins over Burnley (3-1) and West Ham (3-2) have kept the relegation zone at arm's length, but they could suffer a setback against Gerrard's improving Villans.
Key stat
Leeds have lost three of their last four away fixtures.
