Team news
Arsenal
Gabriel Martinelli is suspended after his controversial red card against Wolves while Takehiro Tomiyasu is available after recovering from a calf issue. Bernd Leno is also fit after a positive Covid test.
Brentford
Christian Eriksen remains unavailable while Ivan Toney will face a fitness test to show if he has recovered from a calf issue.
Match preview
Arsenal have been very efficient at home this year. The only points they have dropped at the Emirates are losses to the top trio and a pair of draws with Burnley and Crystal Palace.
In eight games at home to teams outside the top three, the Gunners have conceded just four goals.
That home form doesn’t bode well for visiting Brentford, who have taken one point from the last 18 available in the Premier League. The Bees have also conceded at least twice in their last eight away matches.
Thomas Frank’s men may well have done enough in the early part of the season to avoid relegation but they are certainly looking over their shoulders now.
Arsenal are fancied to keep up in their race for top four with a win, and to overcome a one-goal deficit on the handicap.
Key stat
Brentford have conceded at least twice in their last eight away games.
