Match preview

League One promotion hopefuls Peterborough were below their best when drawing 0-0 at home to Salford in the FA Cup first round, but they can see off their League Two opponents in the replay at Moor Lane.

Posh manager Grant McCann made four changes for the original encounter against Salford and restricted star striker Jonson Clarke-Harris to a substitute's role.

Given the outcome, he seems likely to go with a stronger side for the replay.

Peterborough had gone five games unbeaten until Saturday's 3-2 loss at Exeter, where they conceded twice inside the final 12 minutes.

At the weekend the Posh were exposed by some top-class finishing by Sam Nombe and Jevani Brown but they are not going to face the same quality against Salford, who have lacked penetration since Brandon Thomas-Asante left for West Brom.

Salford have netted just three goals in seven home games since Thomas-Asante's sale and a failure to score against Peterborough could end their FA Cup involvement.

Key stat

Salford have failed to win any of their last seven home matches.
