Match preview
Carrow Road has played host to wins over Manchester City and Leicester City for Norwich this season but with no fans in the stands, they have looked hopeless in East Anglia since the resumption of the Premier League.
The division's basement boys have played both matches since the restart on home soil, losing 3-0 to Southampton and 1-0 against Everton, mustering only one shot on target in each match.
Their situation in the Premier League looks desolate, they are 1-50 to be playing Sky Bet Championship football next term and Daniel Farke believes both survival and beating Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup are a tall order.
Speaking after the Everton defeat, he claimed: "It's not realistic for us to stay in this league, it's not realistic for us to stay in the FA Cup, but as long as we have a chance, we try to be successful in both competitions."
That will not fill Norwich supporters with much confidence going into the club's first FA Cup quarter-final contest since 1992.
The Canaries have lost five of their previous six league assignments and could hardly be playing Manchester United at a worse time.
The season's hiatus threatened to disrupt United's excellent run of form but they have returned to action with an admirable draw at Tottenham before crushing Sheffield United 3-0, thanks to Anthony Martial's hat-trick.
They took the lead after only seven minutes last time out and a fast start could be on the cards in Norfolk, with the Red Devils on a 13-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had his side playing on the front foot from the start in recent games and they have now scored in the opening 35 minutes in six of their last seven contests and in the first-half in nine of their last ten fixtures in all competitions.
The FA Cup represents the club's final shot at domestic silverware this season and there is a good feeling around the club at the moment with Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford returning to the first-team frame.
In that kind of environment, players will be cautious of allowing performance levels to drop with their spot in the starting 11 at stake, so punters should not anticipate any complacency from the Red Devils.
Norwich have trailed in 12 of their 31 Premier League matches this season and with defenders Christoph Zimmerman, Sam Byram and Grant Hanley all sidelined, their rearguard is even more susceptible to being sliced open by United's slick moves.
Should the Canaries fall behind, it is difficult to see them finding a way back into the contest, enhancing appeal about backing Man Utd to be ahead at half-time and full-time.
Key stat
Norwich City have kept only five clean sheets in their 31 Premier League fixtures this season.
