Match preview

What was due to be a celebratory occasion in front of the BBC cameras has become a sombre one following Wednesday’s sad news that Hereford’s FA Cup hero Ronnie Radford had passed away.

With their form in the National League North picking up in recent months, the Bulls can pay tribute to a club legend on Friday by putting in a solid showing against League One Portsmouth – but they are unlikely to do enough to cause an upset.

Portsmouth have struggled for consistency of late, with a swathe of injuries undermining progress.

However, manager Danny Cowley expects several key men to start returning soon and if a few can make the trip to Hereford then Portsmouth should be too good for a side plying their trade three divisions below them.

Key stat

Hereford have scored an average of 2.33 goals per game over their past six matches.
