Monaco were dominant in their first Europa League group stage contest of the season against Sturm Graz but they could struggle with the step up in quality when they travel to Basque Country to face Real Sociedad.

Niko Kovac's side won their opening game in the tournament 1-0 but had 72 per cent of the ball and denied their Austrian opponents a single shot on target.

But Real Sociedad will pose a far greater threat this week, having won five of their opening seven games in La Liga, and they earned an admirable point in the 2-2 draw with PSV in their first group game.

They have been performing well despite a lengthy injury list and still have key talents available through the spine of the team such as Mikel Merino and Mikel Oyarzabal, who has gone from strength to strength this term with five goals and an assist in the league.

The Spaniards look a great bet at odds-against.

And another La Liga club in good spirits are Real Betis, who have won successive league fixtures against Osasuna and Getafe and prevailed 4-3 in a pulsating Europa League opener with Celtic.

They have only one defeat to their name this term and should account for Hungarians Ferencvaros, who were sunk by Bayer Leverkusen last time out.
