Match preview

Rangers landed a 7-1 coup in Dortmund last week to put themselves within touching distance of the next round of the Europa League, but the Germans should be backed to make more than a match of it in the return in Glasgow.

The Light Blues' 4-2 win at Signal-Iduna Park was the result of the round, and while it was no surprise that there were six goals it was a massive shock that the Gers bagged four of them.

As if to show Rangers they're not done yet, Dortmund went out over the weekend and smashed Monchengladbach 6-0, proving they can score in big numbers even without top scorer Erling Haaland, who remains injured.

That puts the goalscoring onus on Marco Reus – who scored twice on Sunday – and Donyell Malan, but the whole emphasis under Marco Rose is an adventurous one, and seeing as they have no choice but to attack in this game, back goals and loads of them. Dortmund and over 2.5 is one way in.

This is a team who have racked up 53 goals in their last 21 matches since they last failed to find the net against Ajax in October.

Rangers will be canny enough to know their job is only half done, although they are in decent form with just one defeat in their last 19.

Roared on by a full house and knowing they'll get holes to exploit as Dortmund commit bodies forward, expect chances at both ends and the visitors to take more of theirs.

Key stat

Dortmund have scored at least two goals in nine of 16 away matches this season.
