Lingmerth leads the way but Luck could have a run

David Lingmerth carded a second successive 65 to extend his overnight lead to two shots at the Quicken Loans National and the Swede is no bigger than 5-4 to seal a second PGA Tour victory.

The 29-year-old, advised ante-post at 33-1 by Racing Post Sport's Ian Wilkerson, broke his PGA Tour maiden at the Memorial in 2015 but he has form in the book at TPC Potomac, having won a Web.com Tour event there in 2012.

Geoff Ogilvy is two shots behind Lingmerth at eight under par with Daniel Summerhays two shots adrift of the Aussie. Arjun Atwal and Sung Kang are five behind the lead heading into the third round.

Lingmerth is 4-6 to beat Ogilvy in the final twoball (6.35pm) and that will probably result in his lead being strengthened but punters looking for an interest are pointed in the direction of Curtis Luck, who could be overpriced against Martin Laird in the 4.55pm contest.

Laird has been woeful off the tee this week. His driving accuracy ranks at just 39 per cent and only a red-hot putter - he has the best putts-per-green-in-regulation stat in the field - has helped him stay competitive.

Luck, who turned professional after the Masters, has looked far more solid and the Aussie youngster could offer a bit of value at 13-8.
