Bubba Watson, Patrick Reed and Matt Kuchar, who are Olympics-bound, get the chance to do some pre-Rio bonding today in the first round of the Travelers Championship.

The trio are three of a four-pronged American attack on medals next week (Rickie Fowler completes the team) and are missing the opening ceremony tomorrow to compete at TPC River Highlands, Connecticut.

Watson, Reed and Kuchar comprise the 6.25pm Travelers threeball today, the marquee group of the afternoon, making it difficult for them to ping the lids. The heat and the breeze are forecast to increase as the day wears on, so the early half of the draw is favoured.
