Those were the words of Dustin Johnson, who had become used to being doubted. The world and his wife questioned whether he had the mettle to win a Major championship. And how emphatically this beast of a golfer provided the answer in last month’s US Open at Oakmont.

Johnson has always walked and talked in a carefree manner, seemingly lacking the focus and passion of his counterparts, but inside he was raging at how many great opportunities to win Majors were slipping through his fingers. The US Open and USPGA in 2010, the Open in 2011, then last summer the most gilt-edged chance of all at Chambers Bay.
