Match preview

It is a matter of when, not if, Wigan will win the League One title this season according to bookmakers and the Latics can take a big step towards securing top spot with victory over Cambridge.

Wigan are 1-14 in places to win the title in England's third tier, having gone nine matches unbeaten in the league to bolster their credentials.

They were held to a draw at Burton last time out but have been a reliable selection on home soil at the DW Stadium, winning four of their last five league matches at home.

They might be in excellent form but that does not mean they are impenetrable and they could ship a consolation goal against Cambridge.

United have enjoyed an upturn in form of their own, beating Wimbledon, Ipswich and Morecambe in three of their last four games and have only failed to score ten times in 42 league games this term.

Key stat

Wigan have kept only three clean sheets in their last eight games in all competitions.
