Preview

The League One title race saw yet more twists on Super Saturday and we can expect more of the same when the Big Three go to post again on a key night for the automatic promotion places.

Rotherham were the only winners among the top three, pipping Ipswich 1-0 courtesy of Michael Smith's 25th goal of a magnificent season – but they still look to be worth taking on at Burton.

Rotherham looked edgy against the Tractor Boys, understandably having lost their previous three league matches.

But in the second half it was Miller-time, that customary assault of long balls, long throws, hard tackles, harder pressing which has made many an opponent wilt. The goal itself was horrible in every sense – unless you're a Rotherham fan.

The truth is, however, that Rotherham's game is all about intensity and they've looked shot for weeks, somehow mustering strength when it mattered.

Burton have had 24 hours extra to prepare for this and while they have won only one of their last 11, their last two home matches ended in 0-0 draws against Plymouth and Wigan. You'd want the draw on your side for the visit of Paul Warne's outfit.

Rotherham are back up to second in the table after MK Dons' slipped up at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and they now have to pick themselves up for a massive, feisty trip to playoff-chasing Oxford.

The Dons, even minus the crocked Mo Eisa, still look the bet at Oxford. Stunned by a superb half by Wednesday, they responded superbly. Up in Fleetwood, meanwhile, Oxford almost let a three-goal lead slip, hanging on 3-2 on Friday.

Milton Keynes were on a fantastic run – unbeaten in 15 – before succumbing to Wednesday, surely the one team no one will want in the playoffs. And Oxford, for all their attacking prowess, have shipped more goals than any side in the top 11.

The title race is still on after Wigan's shock home loss against Cambridge on Saturday and the Latics have good grounds to feel edgy.

They have only four games left but the first three of those are against Ipswich, Plymouth and Portsmouth which is going to ask a lot of them.

Don't be surprised if their trip to Portman Road ends in a low-scoring draw since the Tractor Boys can't score for love nor money – just eight in their last ten – and Wigan would definitely take a point.
