Tuesday's betting preview

Burnley tasted defeat for the first time this season when losing 1-0 at Watford on Friday, but they looked a decent side at Vicarage Road and should respond with a home victory over highflying Hull at Turf Moor.

Hull are second after taking seven points from three games, including Saturday's surprise 2-1 success at home to Norwich.

However, the Tigers have been riding their luck and were fortunate against Norwich, who had 12 shots on target to Hull's four.

Burnley were left feeling hard done by after winning the shot count 11 to five at Watford, and they might look to go a little more direct by involving fit-again centre-forward Jay Rodriguez and pacy Southampton loanee Nathan Tella.

The Clarets possess enough firepower and manager Vincent Kompany should come up with the right blend to ensure a first home win of the campaign.

Ipswich have looked ominously strong in League One, taking seven points from a possible nine, and they can pick up another victory at the expense of struggling Burton at the Pirelli Stadium.

The Tractor Boys eased to an impressive 3-0 victory at home to MK Dons on Saturday and should have too much quality for the third-bottom Brewers, who have shipped 11 goals in three matches.

Bradford have enjoyed an excellent week – following up a 2-1 EFL Cup success over Hull with a 2-0 triumph at home to Newport – and they can maintain their League Two promotion push by defeating Colchester in Essex.

The improving Bantams should be too much of a handful for injury-hit Colchester, who were outshot 21 to two in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Stockport.

Big-spending Salford seem to be perennial underachievers in League Two, but they have seven points from a possible nine this term and should fancy their chances of beating Newport at Rodney Parade.

Salford are yet to concede a league goal this term and they can cope with their lowly hosts, who have only one point on the board.
