Preview

Sheffield Wednesday's League One campaign has got off to a strong start but they take on one of the section's in-form outfits, Bristol Rovers, on Wednesday.

The Gas head for Hillsborough on a seven-game unbeaten run in all competitions, culminating in Saturday's excellent fightback from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Plymouth.

They are scoring loads of goals – no side in the bottom half of League One has scored more – but concede too many for comfort.

Joey Barton's men have won three times on the road this term and will clearly pose a threat to Wednesday.

However, the Owls have lost just three times - to fellow promotion hopefuls Barnsley, Peterborough and Plymouth - so could prove too strong.

Key stat

Rovers' matches average a League One-high 3.33 goals per game.
