Team news

QPR
World Cup star Ilias Chair should slot back in. Tim Iroegbunam is banned. Jake Clarke-Salter is a doubt. Leon Balogun and Stefan Johansen are close to returns.

Luton
Centre-back Gabe Osho is suspended. Amari'i Bell returns from a ban. Cauley Woodrow may have to settle for the bench again after a long layoff.

Match preview

QPR's inability to score is why they are outside the Championship playoff places and why Luton are well worth backing at Loftus Road.

The Hoops have managed just two goals in their last eight league games and while the majority of those misfires happened before Neil Critchley took the helm, his two games in charge have produced the grand total of one goal.

They were utterly impotent in Boxing Day's 0-0 draw at Cardiff, although Critchley can recall Ilias Chair and Tyler Roberts if he feels new ideas are required in the attacking third.

This is just Critchley's third game in charge – they won the first 1-0 at Preston – while Rob Edwards is also set to preside over just his third game since replacing Nathan Jones at Kenilworth Road.

Luton have won only two of their last eight, although the second of those was last time out, an excellent 2-1 win over Norwich in which Cauley Woodrow came back from injury to score his first goal in a year.

Woodrow, like Chair and Roberts, will be pushing for a start, which is why there's a temptation not to assume this will be another low-scoring affair.

Luton beat QPR 3-1 in October, although of course with different managers in either dugout.

There doesn't look a lot between these two sides and Luton, with the safety valve of draw no bet, look a better-value pick while the Gers are struggling front of goal.

Key stat

QPR have failed to find the net in six of their last eight Championship matches.
