Norwich need one more point to make absolutely sure of a return to the Premier League after a three-year absence but they can cross the finishing line in style by beating Blackburn at Carrow Road.

Daniel Farke's side have got themselves six points above third-placed Leeds with two games to play by approaching every match with a positive mindset.

They are the top scorers in the division with 89 goals and many of their players were visibly crestfallen after being held to a 2-2 draw at Stoke, the pre-season promotion favourites, last Saturday.

Any feelings of disappointment were erased a few hours later when Leeds lost 2-0 at Brentford, meaning Norwich require only one more point rather than four to seal promotion.

There should be a party atmosphere in the stands and Blackburn will be eager to contribute to the occasion by building on a series of impressive recent performances.

Rovers arrive in Norfolk on a four-game winning sequence – their best of the season – and can be pleased with their overall efforts, having adjusted well on returning to the Sky Bet Championship.

They could finish anywhere between ninth and 16th and their current position of 14th is where Norwich finished last term.

The challenge for Tony Mowbray is to repeat Farke's achievement by transforming a mid-table side into one capable of challenging for promotion.

But he needs to be astute in the market and faces a battle holding 14-goal midfielder Bradley Dack, who is likely to interest clubs higher up the ladder.

With Dack and 15-goal striker Danny Graham in the side, Blackburn are sure to cause problems for Norwich.

However, like so many other teams to have visited Carrow Road, they are likely to find themselves outgunned. Norwich have conceded 33 home goals this season – the fourth-most in the division and four more than basement boys Ipswich.

However, they have a knack of winning high-scoring games and can do the same this weekend.
