Match preview

Bournemouth are firmly in the driving seat behind Championship winners-elect Fulham, but there is a congested picture just below the Cherries, where Huddersfield and Luton still harbour dreams of automatic promotion.

The pair meet in Yorkshire on Monday but neither can afford to get carried away with top-flight dreams as there is still plenty of scope for them to slip out of the playoff picture.

Any team in the top ten will not have given up hope of extending their season and the Terriers will perhaps be the most edgy with five games remaining after this clash at the John Smith's Stadium.

A late Harry Toffolo goal against Hull eased those worries slightly after they had to pick themselves up from a 3-0 home thumping by Bournemouth that followed a 2-0 reverse at Millwall.

But they should not think they have turned the corner yet as the Hatters, who are probably punching above their weight in the second tier, head north in search of their ninth away success of the campaign.

Six of those wins have come in their last ten on the road, so they have reason to believe that they can boost their own credentials of going up, particularly when they have a striker in Elijah Adebayo who has netted 15 times this term.

It seems difficult to believe that Nathan Jones's team will sit back with the Hatters having only failed to score in two of their last ten games away from Kenilworth Road.

The fact Huddersfield went eight home games without defeat before their loss to Bournemouth may mean that support for the visitors is tempered somewhat, as the Cherries have proved to be the second-best team in the division.

But it could prove to be an open affair and there seems a decent chance both teams will be able to find the net.

Key stat

Luton have scored in eight of their last ten Championship away games
