Midfielder David Kasumu is suspended while centre-back Luke Mbete joins skipper Jonathan Hogg on the sidelines. Tino Anjorin, Pat Jones, Matty Pearson and Tyreece Simpson are all out.

Hull

Match preview

Only three Championship sides went into this weekend coughing up at least 14 goalscoring chances per game – and two of them meet at the John Smith’s Stadium at noon on Sunday.

Goals look on the cards between Huddersfield and Hull, two sides who are something of a defensive calamity.

Both teams have changed coaches in a bid to stop the bleeding and it’s probably too early to say whether Terriers boss Mark Fotheringham or Hull caretaker Andy Dawson have managed to tighten their teams up, but the bare evidence isn’t encouraging.

Hull have conceded in both of Dawson’s matches in charge – that’s 11 in a row without a clean sheet – and Huddersfield have shipped three times in each of Fotheringham’s two games, a 3-1 loss at Reading and 3-3 draw at Luton.

Luton had 24 shots against Huddersfield which is scary and since their first-choice midfield anchorman David Kasumu is suspended, they could well be as fragile against Hull.

In fairness to Fotheringham, he got a tune out of Town after tweaking the formation which gives him food for thought. And Hull have yet to win in six on the road.

The Tigers, who failed to persuade Pedro Martins to become their new boss, have arguably got more potential after their wholesale summer overhaul. And Wednesday night’s 2-1 win over Wigan was a positive.

Neither side looks trustworthy, however, given their defensive frailties.

Key stat

Hull have not kept a clean sheet in 11 matches.
