Barnsley
Cauley Woodrow could make his first start since December but Michal Helik and Aapo Halme are injured and Claudio Gomes (illness) is a doubt.

Match preview

Huddersfield need another win to guarantee themselves a place in the Championship playoffs and they will be pushing for maximum points in a Yorkshire derby with basement boys Barnsley which could feature plenty of goals.

The third-placed Terriers look assured of a top-six finish and have a slim chance or overhauling second-placed Bournemouth, who are four points ahead with two games in hand.

They will need to keep on winning to take advantage of an unlikely Cherries collapse and could not have asked for a much better fixture than a home game against Barnsley, who are on the brink of relegation.

Huddersfield maintained their top-three status with a 2-0 victory at promotion rivals Middlesbrough on Monday although it was slightly bitter-sweet because winger Sorba Thomas – responsible for 11 Championship assists this season – was forced off with a knee injury.

Terriers boss Carlos Corberan will want to avoid further injury blows given the strong likelihood of an extended season and if his team are below full strength it may offer encouragement to their beleaguered opponents.

Barnsley must win their four remaining games to have hope of staying up but they are boosted by the return from injury of star striker Cauley Woodrow, who is poised to make his first start of the year.

With Woodrow and Carlton Morris set to play in a front two and talented Metz loanee Amine Bassi providing creative spark, Barnsley have a decent chance of scoring. But their dodgy defence have conceded 62 league goals this season and may let them down.

Key stat

Both teams have scored in three of Barnsley's last four matches
