Match preview

Cardiff supporters have been starved of entertainment this season and they may witness a low-scoring affair when the Bluebirds take on Blackburn.

There were Cardiff celebrations at the weekend when Callum Robinson's injury-time goal secured a 1-1 draw at home to Burnley, but the Welsh side are 18th in the table and have generally struggled in front of goal, scoring eight times in 11 matches.

Bluebirds caretaker-manager Mark Hudson oversaw a competitive performance against the Clarets which was ultimately worthy of a point, but his players may lack the quality to pull clear of danger.

Blackburn have better attacking players and will strive to build on Saturday's 2-1 win at home to Millwall, which lifted them back into the top six.

However, Jon Dahl Tomasson's side have netted once in their last four Championship away games and could be drawn into another tight, low-scoring encounter.

Key stat

Seven of Cardiff's last nine league games have featured no more than two goals.
