Victory over Sporting Lisbon would seal Dortmund’s place in the knockout stages and they are a short price to do just that at the Westfalenstadion.

With Real Madrid facing Group F whipping boys Legia Warsaw, a defeat is also likely to put an end to Sporting’s Champions League campaign.

The Portuguese outfit will take some heart from Dortmund’s recent form – BVB have won just one of their last seven matches – but it is hard to see them reversing the 2-1 defeat they suffered when the teams met in Lisbon 15 days ago.

Dortmund are still creating plenty of goalscoring opportunities and should continue to do so in a potentially open game.

Sporting proved a tough nut for Real Madrid to crack at the Bernabeu but they probably need to win this to have any chance of progressing.
