Paris St-Germain needed an injury-time Kylian Mbappe winner to seize the initiative in their last-16 tie against Real Madrid at the Parc des Princes last month, but they were much the better side and are likely to wrap up the tie with victory in the Spanish capital.

A 1-0 first-leg defeat was not a complete disaster for Real, who are at less of a disadvantage due to the abolition of the away goals rule.

However, Los Blancos will need to improve and they are disadvantaged by the absences of suspended duo Ferland Mendy and Casemiro.

Mbappe is an injury doubt for PSG, but they have a wealth of experience and talent and should ease through to the quarter-finals for a third successive season.

Neymar to score first

Persistent injuries have hampered Neymar throughout his PSG career but he came off the bench to assist Kylian Mbappe's winning goal in the first leg and looks a likely match-winner at the Bernabeu.

Neymar's involvement in the first leg was his first taste of action since November but he made a huge difference to the quality and tempo of PSG's performance.

The Brazilian's fitness levels will have increased over the last three weeks and he should fancy his chances of opening the scoring.

Real Madrid will be wary of chasing the game against a team like PSG, but they may have to take a few risks at some point and that could contribute to a much more open and higher-scoring second leg.

PSG are usually ruthless when given spaces to exploit and are likely to do plenty of damage if it turns into an end-to-end encounter.
