Froome 4-7 to do double after taking Vuelta lead

Chris Froome is 4-7 to win the Vuelta a Espana after taking the leader's jersey on stage three on Monday.

The Brit, bidding to become only the third man to win the Vuelta and Tour de France in the same year, finished third on stage three behind Italian Vincenzo Nibali, who is the 9-2 second-favourite to win a second Vuelta title.

Beginning in Andorra, the race enters Spanish soil for the remainder of the race after 7.7km of stage four.

There is just one categorised climb - the third-category Alto de Belltall - to tackle on the 198km route, which should end in a sprint finish.

Yves Lampaert outfoxed the sprinters on stage two to claim victory but the speedsters are unlikely to make the same mistake twice.

Matteo Trentin, second on Sunday, is the 3-1 favourite, but at a much bigger price Magnus Cort Nielsen could be worth backing.

The Dane took two stages at last year's Vuelta and was second three weeks ago at this season's Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic.
