With only four days to go before cycling's second Monument of the year, the Tour of Flanders, Wednesday's Dwars door Vlaanderen - or Across Flanders to give it its anglicised name - offers the final chance for the peloton to test their legs before De Ronde.

Likely protagonists Peter Sagan, Greg van Avermaet and Zdenek Stybar have all decided to swerve Wednesday's race in preparation for the big one on Sunday but there are still a number of high-profile names on the start list.

Even in Stybar's absence classics kings Deceuninck-QuickStep have an enviable array of talent set to line up in the shape of two-time defending champion Yves Lampaert, Philippe Gilbert and Bob Jungels.

And if someone is to grab the race by the scruff of the neck it could be Jungels. The Luxembourg national champion won the prestigious Liege-Bastogne-Liege last year and produced a devastating solo attack to win Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne a month ago before a creditable fifth-placed finish at E3 Harelbeke last week.

Recommendation
B Jungels
