Despite her short price, punters are still backing Snow Lantern as she bids to follow up her impressive maiden win at Newbury last month in the Listed York Oaks Farm Stables Fillies' Stakes (2.10) on Friday.

Available at 6-4 first thing this morning, the three-year-old, who has entries in the Cazoo Oaks, Coronation Stakes and Coral-Eclipse, is now a general 5-4 shot and shortening. The daughter of Sky Lantern will attempt to remain unbeaten this season for Richard Hannon.

Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield said: "Many people were hoping that Snow Lantern would go for the Guineas after her comfortable Newbury success.

"However, connections decided to go up the ladder gradually and she's been very well supported ahead of likely bigger and better things in either the Oaks or Coronation Stakes."

Paddy Power market movers

1.40 Sienna Bonnie 7-1 (from 15-2)
2.10 Snow Lantern 11-8 (from 6-4)
2.40 Makram 5-1 (from 11-2)
3.10 Nayef Road 11-4 (from 3-1)
3.40 Boardman 9-2 (from 11-2)

Another positive mover is Fortamour, who bids to land the 7f handciap (3.40) for Ben Haslam. The five-year-old has run well over course and distance and is into 8-1 (from 10-1) to gain a first win of the season.

A dry night at York has left good ground before a seven-race card headlined by the Group 2 Yorkshire Cup (3.10), for which Sir Ron Preistley is a rock-solid 6-4 favourite.
