ITV Racing tips: one key runner from each of the six races on ITV4 this Friday
Langleys Solicitors British EBF Marygate Fillies' Stakes, Listed, 5f
Speedy juvenile fillies open the card and the well-touted Crazyland looks set to showcase her Royal Ascot potential following a winning debut at Windsor last month. Canonized and Bellarena Lady clashed on debut at Newmarket before winning their respective maidens and reoppose once again.
SPOTLIGHT TIP:Instinction
Slowly away and pulled hard on debut but still won; trainer had two-year-old win here on Wednesday
Oaks Farm Stables Fillies' Stakes, Listed, 1m
Snow Lantern caught many eyes when breaking her maiden in fantastic style at Newbury and bids to continue her upward progression, with the Coronation Stakes her long-term aim. Love Is You finished third when sent off favourite for the Nell Gwyn Stakes and takes a drop down in class, but must give away a 3lb penalty.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Divine Light
Sixth in Nell Gwyn on reappearance but didn't enjoy a clear run and retains potential
Casumo Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap, 6f
A sole race from the Berkshire track complements the action from York, and plenty have chances in this competitive handicap. Richard Kingscote has been in typically strong form this season and rides likely favourite May Sonic, while Barbill and Beyond Equal have been in good form and provide stern opposition.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Major Jumbo
Had an excuse on reappearance and looks well weighted on best 2020 form; big player
Friday's free racing tips: six horses to consider putting in your multiples
Matchbook "Best Value" Exchange Handicap, 1m2½f
Trainer William Haggas and owner Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum have already struck with a highly progressive handicapper this week and could do so once again with Irish Admiral – a winner on his first start for the trainer at Wolverhampton. His rivals include Pivoine, who has not won since landing the John Smith's Cup in 2019 over course and distance.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Makram
Well worth a go at 1m2f (dam 1m4f-winning sister to Youmzain); probably capable of better
Matchbook Yorkshire Cup Stakes, Group 2, 1m6f
The staying contest makes a welcome return following its cancellation last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and has attracted a quality field. Sir Ron Priestley is well-fancied to back up his Jockey Club Stakes success, while his trainer Mark Johnston is also represented by Ascot Gold Cup second Nayef Road. Irish Derby hero Santiago adds some extra spice to the race.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Sir Ron Priestley
Has returned in storming form; well beaten on sole run on softer than good (good to soft)
Jigsaw Sports Branding Handicap, 7f
The Knavesmire is a happy hunting ground for the Tim Easterby yard and he is represented by recent Haydock winner Boardman. Shawaamekh, who has winning form over course and distance, opposes and aims to get his head in front for the first time since August 2019.
SPOTLIGHT TIP: Shawaamekh
Course-and-distance winner who was an eyecatching fourth at Chester last week, following wind surgery
