'We like him a lot' - bumper debutant cut to 10-1 (from 100) at Market Rasen
There has been an interesting move for a Newmarket-trained bumper debutant in the finale at Market Rasen on Thursday, with Induro De Fontaine backed into 10-1 (from 100) with William Hill.
The four-year-old son of Manduro is trained by Louise Allan, who enjoyed a winner at Southwell on Wednesday evening with 12-1 shot Realms Of Fire.
Induro De Fontaine was bought for €16,000 as a yearling by Gay Kelleway and she retains a share in the gelding, who is out of a Listed-placed Flat winner.
Allan, speaking en route to the track, said: "We like him a lot, he's a very smart-looking horse and we'd be disappointed if he didn't run well. He's the nicest bumper horse we've had in a long time and has been working with some nice Flat horses.
"Any rain would aid his chance and we have our fingers crossed, although as we all know these horses can make fools of us!
"Gay Kelleway bought him as a yearling but he didn't take to being trained on Racecourse Side in Newmarket, so he joined us on the Bury Road side and hasn't looked back. Gay has kept a percentage in him and hopefully he runs well."
'We're not losing too much sleep'
Induro De Fontaine opened up a 100-1 shot with Paddy Power and was eventually shortened to 10-1 with the same firm.
Paddy Power spokesman Paul Binfield said: "We have seen support for Induro De Fontaine, but we didn't lay too much at fancy prices above 20-1 and we're not losing too much sleep about the relatively small amount it will set us back."
