Tritonic set for surprise clash with Epatante in Ladbrokes Christmas Hurdle
Weekend winner Tritonic could be set for a quick turnaround after he was surprisingly named among the six entrants for the Ladbrokes Christmas Hurdle (2.30) at Kempton on Boxing Day.
The 2019 winner Epatante is a potential rival for the Alan King-trained Tritonic, who landed the Betfair Exchange Trophy at Ascot on Saturday, in the second of three Grade 1 races on the card.
Goshen, Soaring Glory, Glory And Fortune and Not So Sleepy, who dead-heated with Epatante in the Fighting Fifth last time, are the other entries.
The Ladbrokes King George VI Chase (3.05) attracted ten confirmations on Monday, including Clan Des Obeaux, Frodon and Gold Cup hero Minella Indo.
As expected, among those not confirmed for the King George were Allaho, Envoi Allen, Royale Pagaille and Al Boum Photo.
Frodon, winner of the race 12 months ago, will face stiff opposition with Grade 1 winners Chantry House, Lostintranslation, Asterion Forlonge and Dashel Drasher also poised to appear.
Mister Fisher, Saint Calvados and Tornado Flyer complete the line-up.
Clan Des Obeaux, winner of the King George in 2018 and 2019 and mount of Harry Cobden, is the general 5-2 favourite.
Rachael Blackmore rides Minella Indo, last season's Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, who is an 11-4 chance for trainer Henry De Bromhead.
Bryony Frost is on board last year's King George hero, Frodon, who is available at a top-priced 5-1.
Elsewhere, a highly anticipated clash between Bravemansgame and Ahoy Senor in the Ladbrokes Kauto Star Novices' Chase (1.55) looks on after the pair were among the six entries for the Grade 1.
