After five entertaining fixtures in Britain and Ireland on Saturday afternoon, the action rolls on to Wolverhampton in the evening. There are seven races, all live on At The Races, with the first race taking place at 5.45pm and here are three horses to note . . .

Grecian Divine
5.45 Wolverhampton

After tumbling in the weights, Grecian Divine finally got her act in order when running out a good winner of a 6f handicap at Chelmsford last month.

The four-year-old, trained by Joe Tuite, was supported into 9-4 favourite from 10-1 that day, although the form has not worked out since.

Mind you, this is not a great race and Pierre-Louis Jarmin, who has ridden well for Archie Watson over the winter, is in the saddle. It will be interesting to see if she can follow up off a 4lb higher mark.

Masaarr
6.45 Wolverhampton

This horse holds two entries: in this 7f novice stakes and in the Qipco 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket in a month’s time.

Owned by Ahmed Al Maktoum and trained by Roger Varian, Masaarr was a comfortable winner of a mile contest on the all-weather at Lingfield in November and Varian was not talking down his ability in his recent Racing Post Stable Tour.

“The Guineas might come a bit quick for him, so I might campaign him with the Jersey in mind,” the trainer said.

Prancing Oscar
8.45 Wolverhampton

Trainer Ben Haslam has been in the headlines this week after he was one of 13 trainers who lost their right to self-certify non-runners for a period of time after operating above the accepted threshold for using the tool.

However, Haslam has also been had his runners in good order over the last couple of weeks, with two winners and a second from his four runners before today.

Prancing Oscar was a course-and-distance winner in July and is likely to be in the mix again.
