Tonight's action: three horses it could pay to follow

Willie Mullins and Patrick Mullins are in fine form

There are three meetings this evening, which outweighs the two afternoon turf fixtures. Ballinrobe's jumps meeting starts at 5.40, followed by Nottingham's action at 5.50 and Chelmsford's all-weather card at 6.00. Ballinrobe and Chelmsford can be seen on At The Races, while Nottingham is screened by Racing UK.

Spin A Yarn
5.40 Ballinrobe

It is no surprise Joseph O'Brien has made a fine start to his training career and the Classic-winning jockey has his team in fine form with four winners from his last eight runners, so it is worth paying attention to his horses this evening. They include Spin A Yarn, a four-year-old Flemensfirth gelding who finished third in a maiden hurdle at Roscommon last month.

Russian Soul
7.00 Chelmsford
If you build it they will come. Chelmsford was rewarded for putting on a £25,000 handicap with 14 declarations, although Captain Dion's defection means the nine-year-old Russian Soul faces just 12 rivals now. Trained by Jamie Osborne, he was a regular at the Dubai World Cup Carnival when with Michael Halford and has won 11 of his 75 starts with 15 seconds and nine thirds also on his CV. He might have a few more miles on the clock than some, but popped up at 14-1 at Chester three starts ago.

Brahma Bull
8.40 Ballinrobe

As a €170,000 bumper newcomer in the colours of Susannah Ricci, trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by his son Patrick, it is easy to see why many will side with Brahma Bull in the final race at Ballinrobe this evening. He is by top jumps stallion Presenting and Mullins snr is operating at a 35 per cent strike-rate in the last two weeks, while Patrick is at 45 per cent.
