Tiger Roll feels like the horse of two years ago again, says regular rider

The man who knows Tiger Roll better than anyone thinks the flame is still burning bright and believes you will see the old spark back when the legend returns to action in the Boyne Hurdle at Navan next month.

Keith Donoghue took the dual Grand National hero out hunting recently with the Ward Union Hunt, while Tiger Roll has also been to Mornington beach for a paddle in an attempt to recapture the sort of form which saw him win the world's most famous race in 2018 and 2019.

Tiger Roll was deprived his chance of gaining equine immortality in April when the Aintree showpiece was cancelled due to Covid-19, and his two most recent performances have been well below standard, most recently when pulled up in the cross-country race at the November meeting at Cheltenham.
