Three runners to note from today's evening meetings

It's Super Saturday with meetings at Newmarket, Ascot, York and Chester as well the Darley Irish Oaks card from the Curragh sandwiched in between, but if you've room for more, turf Flat fixtures take place at Salisbury (5.50 start) and Hamilton (6.05). There is also Grade 1 action Stateside and the appearance of a global superstar.

Solo Mission7.20 Salisbury
William Haggas has some fancy fish to fry on Saturday afternoon with stable aces Tasleet and Mutakayyef in action in feature races at Newmarket and Ascot, but the trainer could also be grinning if Solo Mission strikes. Off the mark at Carlisle last time - and possibly better than the bare form of that - he could have more to offer at a track the top Newmarket trainer boasts a fine strike-rate. Another plus is the 10lb the three-year-old receives from one of his main rivals Cotton Club.

Sweetasever 9.05 Hamilton
Joseph O'Brien has had only 13 runners in Britain since he started training last year, but the youngest ever jockey to win a Breeders' Cup race sends five to Hamilton, including this filly who runs in the colours of his mother Annemarie. The daughter of Power is not the shortest-priced of O'Brien's raiders, but appeared suited by a stiff mile when winning at Navan two outings ago, so may like the testing finish.

Songbird 10.30 Delaware Park
The sweetheart of US racing, Songbird bids to extend her near-flawless career record to 13 wins from 14 races conceding between 9lb and 13lb to her rivals. Her only defeat came in the Breeders' Cup Distaff last year when she was run out of things by the brilliant Beholder - although that reverse perhaps only endeared her further to the public. Back on song in the Ogden Phipps last month, the four-year-old should be hard to stop.
