Three horses worth keeping an eye on at Chelmsford tonight
After a busy day of jump racing, attention turns to the eight-race card at Chelmsford. Here are three horses to follow . . .
Divine Image
5.45 Chelmsford
James Doyle travels to the Essex course for his only ride of the day aboard well-bred newcomer Divine Image, who makes a belated debut for Charlie Appleby.
The daughter of Scat Daddy, perhaps one of the last of the sire's offspring to be sold at auction, cost Godolphin €360,000 in May and she has a good draw in stall six.
Her trainer only has a handful left to run over Christmas, but has enjoyed a good year on the all-weather, with his two-year-olds winning seven times from 21 attempts.
Azzeccagarbugli
6.45 Chelmsford
Marco Botti began training Azzeccagarbugli in August after the five-year-old was transferred from his brother Stefano's yard in Italy.
The son of Kodiac was a multiple winner on the continent, but has endured a mixed start in Britain, with a third-place finish at Kempton in October his best performance.
Stepping back to a mile, Azzeccagarbugli will be partnered by Gabriele Malune for the first time.
Lalania
7.15 Chelmsford
Sean Levey and Stuart Williams have a great record when combining at Chelmsford this season, winning four times from eight runners.
They team up again with Lalania, who runs in the 5f handicap following five straight defeats at 6-1 or shorter.
She has finished third or fourth on all five occasions though, and will be ridden by Levey for the first time off an official mark of 72.
