Joseph O'Brien is weighing up Group 1 options for his star three-year-old filly Iridessa, with the Kingdom of Bahrain Sun Chariot Stakes or the Prix de l'Opera her next port of call.

The triple top-level winner bounced back to her best in the Group 1 Matron Stakes at Leopardstown last week, leaving a disappointing Curragh effort behind when she didn't appear to get the run of the race.

"We were over the moon with her performance," O'Brien said of Iridessa's Irish Champions Weekend success over dual-Guineas heroine Hermosa.

"She had some good runs over a mile earlier in the year, but she's obviously getting better as the year goes on."

He added: "She's been good since Leopardstown. The two obvious options for her at the minute are the Sun Chariot Stakes or the Prix de l'Opera. It'll probably be one or the other for her next."

Should the daughter of Ruler Of The World take up her engagement at Newmarket on October 5, for which she is a 6-1 chance, she could meet the likes of Veracious, Laurens, Lavender's Blue or Leopardstown rival Hermosa.

Although keen to concentrate on more immediate targets first, O'Brien has also mentioned the possibility of a tilt at the Breeders' Cup for his family home-bred in early November.

He said: "The Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf is back over a mile and a quarter this year at Santa Anita and is definitely an option for her later in the year, but we'll take it one step at a time."
