Sports minister Nigel Huddleston will be among a party of observers at Goodwood on Saturday when spectators return to a British racecourse for the first time since March.

The pilot event on the final day of Glorious Goodwood will house 5,000 and if considered successful could be replicated at other racecourses in August and September.

Huddleston set a date of October 1 for the wider return of spectators to sporting events while announcing Goodwood as one of three pilots, the others in cricket and snooker.
