SIS is facing a damages claim of up to £40 million made against it by rival betting shop service provider The Racing Partnership (TRP) and Arena Racing Company (Arc), who have claimed success in the Court of Appeal in a long-running legal battle.

However, both sides described the judgement as complex, with SIS saying it would maintain a "robust legal defence".

In May last year a high court judge found that SIS had unlawfully breached confidentiality in raceday data belonging to Arc, the driving force behind TRP, in a case stemming back to the launch of TRP more than three years ago.
