Seamie Heffernan: staying power is High Definition's trump card in Irish Derby
Seamie Heffernan thinks the strongest stayer will rule in Saturday's Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby and is convinced the Curragh will play to the strengths of hot favourite High Definition.
In the lead up to the Cazoo Derby at Epsom, the long-serving Ballydoyle jockey suggested High Definition might be better suited to the Curragh rather than the twists and turns of Epsom. The Dante third was subsequently taken out of the race with Aidan O'Brien relying on Bolshoi Ballet instead.
Heffernan knows what it takes to win the Irish Derby given he has landed it twice since 2017, and four times in all, and he feels the staying power of High Definition, who heads the betting at 6-4, could prove to be his trump card.
