Royal Ascot winner Pique Sous retired at the age of ten

Pique Sous, an eight-race winner who notably landed the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot for the Supreme Horse Racing Club and Willie Mullins in 2014, has been retired.

The ten-year-old, who had the last of his 26 outings in July when finishing second over hurdles at Tipperary, won three bumpers and three Flat races, while his two victories over hurdles included a Grade 2 novice success at Fairyhouse in 2013. He also won the 1m6f Petingo Premier Handicap at Leopardstown later that year.

Mullins said: "Pique Sous was a very good servant who had his problems over the years.

"He was bought quite cheaply as a three-year-old at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale and did very well for us."
