Roger Teal is embracing the pressure of Oxted’s Darley July Cup defence as Rohaan joined the list of sprinters primed for a crack at the reigning champion on Saturday.

Last year Oxted provided a breakthrough Group 1 win for Teal and rising star of the weighing room Cieren Fallon when storming to a length and a quarter success at Newmarket, prompting jubilant celebrations on the July course.

Following more top-level success in last month King’s Stand at Royal Ascot, Teal is relishing the extra pressure of training the defending champion rather than the underdog as Oxted bids to become the first two-time July Cup winner since Right Boy in 1959.
