Sometimes it pays to go with the blatantly obvious. Newmarket-based Yorkshireman William Haggas sent just one runner up to his favourite track and Award Scheme won like a good thing in the colours of the Queen.

If that was not enough of a pointer, jockey Danny Tudhope was aboard the 11-8 favourite rather than riding Golden Hind for his boss David O'Meara.

Tudhope, who has a prolific record when teaming up with Haggas, had little more than a steering job as Award Scheme cruised home in the 1m2½f fillies' handicap.
