Shrewd trainer has to settle for second again with gallant stayer

Olympic silver medallists have plenty to be proud of, but finishing second can get a little annoying after a while.

Ask Iain Jardine, a go-ahead Scottish trainer who has had a licence for five years, has a string of 50 to his name and is keen to make a mark on the biggest stage.

His fine stayer Nakeeta was beaten a short head in the Chester Cup in May, and his since finished second again at Ascot and on this course earlier this week.
