Saltonstall gets his nose in front to strike again for elated McGuinness

The two sides of racing were captured perfectly following the result announcement of the feature Colm Quinn BMW Mile Handicap.

As Saltonstall's name was called, Ado McGuinness raised his arms aloft like a striker who had just scored the cup final winner, while Tom Madden's head dropped with the realisation his mount Njord had been beaten a nose.

The celebrations may well have been amplified by the fact that Saltonstall, to use the trainer’s words, worked terribly in the build up to emulating Vastonea and Riven Light by landing the valuable handicap on two separate occasions.
