Iain Jardine and Rebecca Menzies both showed the benefit of doing the Christmas shopping in Ireland as they landed races with relatively recent recruits.

In the opening handicap hurdle Flowery made a winning debut for Jardine having joined from Michael Hourigan. He was convincing, or rather would have been but for hanging markedly left after the last. That allowed the chasing trio of Best To Come, Dulce Panem and Magic Of Milan to close up, without ever looking like getting there.

An hour later, Menzies teamed up with promising amateur Aaron Anderson on Rossmore's Pride, who was making his second start since arriving from Christian Delcros.
