Morrison's Third Wind steals the show as Acey Milan disappoints

Third Wind caused a 40-1 upset when landing the 2m4½f maiden hurdle, with odds-on favourite Acey Milan and the promising Breaking Waves among those trailing in his wake.

The four-year-old, who had produced a decent effort when third on debut in a bumper at Huntingdon in March but had then finished well beaten at Warwick, was unfancied in the market but produced a decisive performance to win by four lengths from fellow 40-1 shot Fly To Mars.

Acey Milan, sent off 8-15 favourite, could finish only a disappointing fifth, while Breaking Waves was third behind the Hughie Morrison-trained winner.
