More juvenile joy for Burke as Beatbox calls the tune

The all-weather season officially began at Newcastle on Tuesday and was cemented with the first of 24 fast-track qualifier for finals day in the form of the 6f conditions stakes for two-year-olds.

It was won by Beatbox Rhythm, who became the latest juvenile revelation for Karl Burke this year. He made all under PJ McDonald and had the race in the bag some way out, beating River Boyne, Gordon Elliott's first Flat runner at the track, by two and a quarter lengths.

It is a measure of Burke's year with juveniles that success is coming even from unlikely sources.
