There was a crackle around the winner's enclosure after the second race, won with breathtaking ease by Whatduhavtoget.

The four-year-old had been bought after winning a point-to-point in Ireland and made her debut under rules for Dan Skelton look as easy as could be as she drew clear on the bridle to beat Visandi by 13 lengths.

The race has a pretty good pedigree, Cheltenham Festival winners Ballyalton and Taquin De Seuil having won it already this decade. Afterwards, members of the ownership syndicate from Highclere Thoroughbred Racing were not shy in revealing ambitions just as lofty as with those two for the daughter of Presenting.
