The little guy came out on top in the feature Listed Pipalong Stakes at Pontefract on Wednesday, as 14-1 shot Lincoln Rocks gave owner Peter Smith his greatest day when beating 6-4 favourite Dawn Of Hope.

Lincoln Rocks was her Smith's 18th winner in more than 30 years by his own reckoning, and under an inspired ride by Daniel Tudhope, the filly got the better of Roger Varian's charge whose rider Andrea Atzeni was in silks that have been carried to success in the Derby.

"This would be by far our biggest winner," said Smith, who was joined by his wife Susan.
