'It's been amazing' - 15-length success continues flying summer for Ben Pauling

Thursday: Stratford
Ben Pauling has had a great time of it with his summer jumpers recently and his hot spell continued when Pencreek landed the 2m3½f novice handicap chase.
The nine-year-old, who was recording back-to-back victories, travelled smoothly throughout before effortlessly pulling clear on the bridle to record a 15-length success under Luca Morgan.
"He was very impressive but I think it was a terrible race," said Pauling. "He jumped well today, so he looked impressive, but I don't think there was much depth and I hope the handicapper sees it the same way.
"We were delighted with his performance and he seems to be improving and hopefully that continues. I thought he just looked slightly out of his comfort zone over two miles last time and he looked to stay the trip very well today and looks as though he may stay further."
Pauling is operating at a 56 per cent strike-rate in the last two weeks and puts that success down to his new yard.
"It's been amazing," said Pauling. "I'm not a trainer who prides themselves on their summer jumpers particularly as we don't have many in but those who are in are running very well.
"The new yard is working well, the environment they are being trained is incredible and the horses are responding to it, so it's a great place for us to be in."
Pipe denied
The trip to the Warwickshire track was a good one for trainer David Pipe, whose two runners both won, or so he thought.
The 2m½f mares' handicap hurdle was won by Lady Reset under Tom Scudamore before Defi D'Oudairies was first past the post in the closing 3m2½f handicap hurdle under Philip Armson.
However, after a lengthy stewards' inquiry Defi D'Oudairies was placed second after causing interference and the race was awarded to Liffeydale Dreamer. Armson was also suspended for two days.
