Oliver Greenall's long journey to bring Ecossais to his Cheshire yard from France has belatedly started to pay off following the six-year-old's impressive victory in the 3m½f handicap chase.

Greenall drove the horsebox himself on the 20-hour round trip earlier this year to pick up the horse from Emmanuel Clayeux's yard.

After five fruitless starts in Britain, Ecossais galloped to a 13-length win under Ross Turner.
