Jockey Benoit de la Sayette and trainer Kevin Philippart de Foy have proved to be the finds of the winter and their burgeoning careers blossomed further with the victory of Hint Of Stars in the 1m4f handicap.

The duo are two of the hottest prospects in their respective disciplines across Britain at the moment, and the four-year-old’s game victory provided the Newmarket trainer with a third win from his last four runners and a fifth from his last 14 rides for De La Sayette, who secured his first career victory on Hint Of Stars at Newcastle last month.

The delighted trainer said: “I’ve known Benoit a very long time and he’s always had beautiful hands when riding. He gets the horses relaxed and in a good rhythm. He’s a wonderful rider at the moment.

“He’s a very straightforward horse to ride and it was the perfect race for him, he’s been a delight to train since he joined our yard. He is part of a small number of horses for us and I have a great team at home who are doing a fantastic job. Long may our brilliant run continue.”

Amtiyaz continues ascent

Amtiyaz enhanced his profile as a progressive all-weather performer with a career-best victory in the opening 2m handicap, the first leg of a treble for Hollie Doyle.

The son of Frankel has largely raced on synthetic surfaces in his career and put his best foot forward with a comfortable two-and-a-quarter-length success under Doyle, who rode Something Enticing to victory in the mile handicap before Pearl Spectre won the second division of the mile classified stakes.
